The Backstreet Boys Christmas special that filmed this month in Los Angeles has been canceled, following rape allegations against Nick Carter.
The special was scheduled to air on ABC on December 14 and would feature Carter, AJ McLean, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell and Howie Dorough, but Variety confirmed that it has been removed.
It comes after Carter, 42, was accused of raping a 17-year-old girl during the band’s 2001 tour.

Ruth detailed the “pain, confusion, frustration, embarrassment and self-harm” caused by the alleged incident, claiming that Carter “threatened and tried to silence her” immediately afterward.
Ruth’s attorney, Mark J. Boskovich, said three other women, named only as Jane Doe, are named in a class action lawsuit along with Ruth.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Ruth alleges that she was invited to get on the tour bus, Carter asked her if she wanted a drink; after ordering apple juice, she claims that Ella Carter offered her her cranberry and gave her a ‘red’ drunk which she called ‘VIP Juice’.
Ruth claims the drink tasted unpleasant when she drank it and says she thinks it was a mixture of cranberry juice and alcohol.
Ruth claimed that Carter took her to the bus bathroom and ordered her to perform oral sex on him. Ruth alleges that she was crying the whole time, but Carter “kept instructing her”.

Ruth further claims that Carter took her to a bed on the bus and continued his alleged sexual assault.

She said: ‘The last 21 years have been filled with pain, confusion, frustration, shame and self-harm that is a direct result of Nick Carter raping me.
“Although I am autistic and living with cerebral palsy, I believe that nothing has affected me more or had a more lasting impact on my life than what Nick Carter did and told me.

She added: “Carter tried to scare me into shutting up…he was nasty and threatening.”
“He told people that he would turn people against me and because he was Nick Carter, he had the power to ruin my life.”
She said she was motivated to speak out to “stop” Carter from “assaulting any more teenagers and women.”

Ruth claims that she contracted a sexually transmitted infection, human papillomavirus (HPV) infection from the alleged assault, having been a virgin beforehand.
She is now seeking damages.
She said: “Just because Nick Carter is a celebrity doesn’t mean he’s exempt from his crimes.” I am a survivor and always will be.
He said: “Nick Carter has a long history of abusing women” adding that the music industry has allegedly “looked the other way” in the past.

Carter’s younger brother, Aaron Carter, was found dead at age 34 in his bathtub in Lancaster, California, on November 5. The cause of death has not been officially declared, but it is known that he had mental health problems and addictions.
Carter’s lawyer, Michael Holtz, called the allegations “totally false” in a statement sent to DailyMail.com on Thursday.
“This claim about an incident that allegedly took place more than 20 years ago is not only without legal merit, but is also completely false,” he said.
Holtz said that “unfortunately, for a number of years, Ms. Ruth has been manipulated into making false accusations about Nick, and those accusations have repeatedly and materially changed over time.”
