Marisa Abela leads the EE BAFTA Rising Star Award nominees for her role as Amy Winehouse in the 2024 film Back To Black.
The shortlist, which was announced on Tuesday, includes Marisa, Jharrel Jerome (Unstoppable), David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus), Mikey Madison (Anora) and Nabhaan Rizwan (In Camera).
Coincidentally, David, Mikey and Marisa were all stars of BBC drama Industry.
The announcement was made by her Back To Black co-star Jack O’Connell, who played Blake Fielder-Civil in the film, and Radio 1 presenter Ali Plumb.
The award is seen as a path to A-list success, with previous winners including Tom Holland, James McAvoy, Tom Hardy, Lashana Lynch and Kristen Stewart.
It is the only award at the BAFTA film ceremony that is voted on by the public.

The winner will be announced at the BAFTA Film Awards, which will take place on February 16 at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
It was announced last month David Tennant will host the EE Bafta Awards 2025 for the second year in a row.
The actor, 53, presented the awards ceremony for the first time last year, taking over from Richard E Grant.
The ceremony will feature a number of exciting new updates, including a new Children’s & Family Films category, celebrating the very best films that appeal to intergenerational audiences.
The new category is the first to be shown in five years and marks the first new EE BAFTA Film Award in five years.
Another new feature is that an updated voting process has been introduced in the Outstanding British Film category.
The minimum number of cinema screenings has also been significantly increased to ensure that British cinema audiences have adequate access to Best Picture contenders on the big screen.
At last year’s ceremony, fans were treated to a hilarious Staged-style skit featuring David’s co-star Michael Sheen and his dog.
Viewers were also no doubt left chuckling after David pitched a new TV show to Loki star Tom Hiddleston, with many taking to social media to praise the star for making last year’s show the best they had for a while seen.
