Bachelorette star Trista Sutter clarifies she’s ‘happy and healthy’ on a ‘beach in Mexico’… after husband Ryan Sutter sparked concern with cryptic posts

Despite widespread speculation, Trista Sutter is having no trouble in paradise.

The Bachelorette alum, 51, shared family photos “from a beach in Mexico” on Saturday after husband Ryan Sutter sparked concern with a series of cryptic messages about missing his wife of 21 years.

‘Gosh people. Can’t a girl here have a nervous breakdown/trial separation/midlife crisis/death/divorce in peace?!” she started jokingly in the subtitles with winking and laughing emojis.

“In all seriousness, to those involved, I am safe and sound, happy and healthy, in love and grateful,” Trista wrote. “For those who prefer to focus on being critical and looking way too hard for darkness, good luck with that.”

She explained that an “opportunity for perspective and personal growth” presented itself, adding: “With the unconditional support of my family and friends, I chose myself and betterment, knowing that my job as a stay-at-home mom and my children come to an end. The needs of the school year were in the best, most capable hands.”

“My stoic husband, who usually prefers privacy to posting, decided to share his love for me in posts that would find me on my travels,” she continued. ‘We consider Instagram as a digital diary.’

Trista wrote: ‘Most of the time the world doesn’t pay much attention to it. This time he couldn’t say anything good and virtually every news outlet picked up his ‘cryptic/confusing/attention seeking/dramatic’ photos and captions.’

The former Miami Heat dancer said her husband’s posts were “exactly what my words of affirmation love language needed to get me through some serious self-doubt and anxiety… and that’s all that matters.”

“He doesn’t owe anyone any explanations and doesn’t need anyone’s permission to post what he wants to post and share what he wants to share,” Trista wrote.

“If you want to know the rest of the story, I will tell it in due time,” she added. “For now, it’s back to our regular programming – from a beach in Mexico!”

She jokingly concluded, “After all, nervous breakdowns and breakups require some much-needed rest and relaxation!”

Trista also shared some photos to her Instagram Story of her family at the beach, including one of Ryan, 49, sleeping in a hammock.

The proud mum also posted photos of son Maxwell Alston, 16, and 15-year-old daughter Blakesley Grace enjoying the family holiday.

After a message about Trista not be present on Mother’s Day and how he wants ‘hear your voice,” Ryan shared his own explanation last weekend.

‘Trista is doing well. We’re doing well. Were great. Trista is in a place in life where she is a bit searching,” he wrote in part Instagram.

“An opportunity arose that could help her in that quest. With the support of her family, she took over. Part of that process means she is temporarily inaccessible to us,” Ryan said. ‘I miss her. We miss her.’

Trista was the runner-up on the first season of The Bachelor before being chosen to lead the gender-flipped spinoff The Bachelorette.

She and Ryan married in December 2003 after she chose him for the season finale.

The couple lives with their family in Colorado, where Trista works as a physical therapist and Ryan is a firefighter.
