Insiders reveal the sad truth about Bachelorette couple Georgia Love and Lee Elliott’s break-up – and his response to our questions says it all
It was the fairytale reality TV romance that everyone hoped would last.
But sources say Georgia Love and Lee Elliott’s marriage is on life support, with the celebrity couple ‘taking a break’ as they reassess their future together.
Eight years after falling in love on Ten’s The Bachelorette, Georgia, 35, sparked breakup rumors when she ditched her wedding ring and flew to New York City on Boxing Day.
She and a friend have watched nearly a dozen Broadway shows over the past two weeks, while her carpenter husband Lee, 43, holed up in their marital home in Melbourne, making the occasional outing to play golf and have a drinking beer with his friends.
After spending Christmas apart and choosing to be with their respective families, Georgia’s trip to the Big Apple – combined with the fact that both she and Lee were seen without their wedding rings – has led to a wave of speculation online that they stopped doing it.
And we can confirm it’s more than just speculation, as a source familiar with the situation tells us they’re over – at least for now.

“They are on a break, but plan to reassess their relationship when Georgia returns from America,” the insider said.
“The time apart could have been good for them and I think they both had a chance to see what life would be like if they did [officially] different.
‘Both are surprised that there is so much interest, to be honest. They have agreed not to speak directly to the media – at least not until they know where they stand.”
The source adds that Lee has “always supported Georgia in following her dreams” and “I think.” No matter what happens, they will remain friends in the long run.
“Everyone, including themselves, hopes they can make things work and I think that’s why they’re so reluctant to address anything officially.”
On Wednesday, we saw Lee going through the storage boxes in the garage of their home. He was seen pulling out packages of clothes, possibly completing the final orders for his men’s athleisure business, which he closed late last year.
As he poked around, it was clear he wasn’t wearing his wedding ring.
The next morning, a reporter from Daily Mail Australia went to the estranged couple’s home, where she saw Lee taking photos of the red Volkswagen Eos in Georgia.

When asked if he wanted to say anything about their breakup, Lee’s response basically confirmed what our insider had said about their pact to remain silent.
He did not deny that they had broken up, but politely said he could not comment, then got into his car and drove to work..
The next morning – Friday – our snapper caught a dejected Lee drinking coffee in Hampton. Once again without his wedding ring, he seemed on the verge of tears.
It comes as fans on Instagram continue to pressure Georgia over her husband’s whereabouts during her US holiday. She has not confirmed a separation or a trial separation, but instead gives the more general answer that he is “home.”
“Where’s Lee?” one user asked in her comments section, adding a sad face emoji.
“He’s home, I’m here visiting my girlfriend,” Georgia replied, adding that she was “incredibly tired of this question.”
A follower asked: ‘Oh you broke up with Lee?’ prompting another to reply: “Poor Lee.”
‘Why?’ Georgia replied bluntly.

The only time Georgia directly addressed the split rumors was last month when she responded to a follower who asked if Lee was joining her on her Boxing Day flight to the Big Apple and if not, why.
“It’s best to stop speculating, especially on my own page,” she said. “If I had something to tell you, I would tell it myself.”
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Georgia and Lee several times about the status of their relationship.
They haven’t been pictured together since September and Georgia has attended several events without wearing her diamond engagement ring and wedding band, including at a Christmas party where Lee was conspicuously absent.
Questions first arose when Georgia posted a video on social media of her decorating her Christmas tree at home and there was nothing on her left ring finger.
Shortly afterwards, another photo showed her at a terrace with a friend and she also had no ring – suggesting the earlier clip was not a one-off.

Noticing that this was unusual for Georgia, eagle-eyed fans flocked to the comments section to ask if she and Lee had spent time on their relationship.
This led others to note that the pair had not been photographed together for a few months, leading to speculation that this could be Australia’s ‘first bachelor divorce’.
The couple met and fell in love on the 2016 season of The Bachelorette, where Georgia, a former TV news reporter, chose tradie Lee as her winning suitor.
They married in 2021 at Frogmore Creek Winery outside Hobart, followed by an outdoor reception at Shene Distillery.
The lovebirds were due to get married in Italy the year before but had to cancel due to Covid travel restrictions.
The following year they moved to their $1.3 million mansion in the posh Melbourne suburb of Hampton East.
