Bachelorette alum Andi Dorfman, 37, is hospitalized just days after giving birth to first child

Andi Dorfman revealed that she was hospitalized just days after announcing that she gave birth to her first child, a girl named Harper, on December 20.

The Bachelorette star, 37 – who shared the happy news after 28 hours of labor – gave a health update to her Instagram followers on Saturday to reveal she had to undergo a ‘procedure’.

But shortly before Christmas, the TV personality welcomed her little one into the world with husband Blaine Hart.

In the snap uploaded to her Stories, Dorfman could be seen resting in a hospital bed with her baby daughter on her chest.

‘Welp, we’re back! This time for mom (a minor setback and needed a quick/safe procedure), but first I had to cuddle this little nugget.’

“I’ve also never been more excited about anesthesia (motherhood changes you quickly),” Andi continued.

She then emphasized the importance of listening to your body, typing, “Lesson learned: No matter how ignorant you are about motherhood, you still know your body best!”

‘Listen to it! Yes, recovery is difficult and everyone is different, but your instincts are valid (and probably correct).”

In a second post, she uploaded a photo of a hospital room and called out the messages she’s received to help her feel less alone “with the general lack of postpartum care (that’s a rant for another day ha).”

“Anyway, when I got home I was in a lot of pain and it was getting worse every day,” Dorfman remembers.

She added: ‘Despite the internet saying recovery takes time, I still felt something was wrong. After trying all the home remedies, I finally called my doctors and they told me to come right away.”

“It turned out I had a large and a small hematoma that were causing the pain,” Andi revealed.

According to the Cleveland ClinicA hematoma is a “closed wound in which blood collects and fills a space in your body because it cannot drain or drain.”

The media personality explained, “Within a few hours we were at the hospital and getting ready for the surgery.”

‘A very simple procedure, but still quite scary when you have a six-day-old baby (plus a lot of hormones still lurking).’

In conclusion, Andi told her fans, “Trust your body, trust your instincts, and trust that your doctors really care about your health and well-being, and don’t be afraid to reach out to them.”

She admitted that she felt “guilty” because she “worried about myself instead of my daughter, but realized that if I’m not good, she’s no good.” I hope this helps anyone who is unsure about their own postpartum recovery.”

In an additional update, Dorfman took a selfie with her daughter as she apparently continues to recover at home. “I love her so much,” she wrote.

Earlier on December 20, the star took to her Instagram Stories to reveal that she had given birth to her daughter.

At the time, she uploaded a photo of her baby’s hand while she was still in the hospital, writing, “28 hours of labor later… and we are officially a group of three.”

In August, Andi and husband Blaine excitedly announced that they were expecting their first child together.

And later that same month, the lovebirds revealed the gender of their little one during a party on the beach.

Two days after initially announcing the birth of their daughter, Andi took to Instagram again.

She shared an adorable photo as she rested in a hospital bed while gently cradling the newborn.

Next to her was also her husband, with whom she tied the knot in a romantic ceremony in Italy in May 2023.

‘Introducing…Harper Bell Hart. Our sweet girl came into this world weighing over 3.5 kg and was just as tall as her father at 65 centimeters!’ she wrote.

‘We are more in love with her than we could ever imagine. I’m crying on the spot just looking at her and daddy is all wrapped around her cute little finger.”

Dorfman added, “He even chose her middle name, an abbreviation of Bellissima, the Italian word for ‘beautiful.’ An ode to a place that has been a magical part of so many milestones in our lives and will now remain a part of her forever.’

The new mom then shouted out “wonderful well wishes” from her fans and followers.

“And a huge thank you to our girl for making us the muskiest, proudest, juiciest parents ever!” This is truly the best gift we have ever received.”

The couple welcomed their daughter into the world just in time to celebrate Christmas as a family of three.

Andi shared an adorable photo as they posed with their little girl while standing in front of a decorated tree earlier this week on Wednesday.

The couple smiled brightly for the holiday photo, while the newborn was also dressed for the holidays in a green velvet outfit.

‘Happy holidays from our family (of three) to yours! Wishing you all a holiday season that shines brightly with love and shines with joy!” the TV personality wrote.
