“We had to opt for a caesarean section because Bastian’s heart rate dropped with every contraction,” she wrote at the time.

She went on to explain that Bastian, now two, had a knot in his umbilical cord that was causing the problems with his heart rate.

‘It wasn’t until they pulled him out that they realized there was a “real knot” in his umbilical cord that was the cause, she added.

“The contractions were cutting off his oxygen [because] of the knot!’

In May 2022, Laurina told the Herald Sun she had come to believe that having a baby was not “in my cards.”

She confessed that she considered not going through with her pregnancy, after wondering if she would “ever be responsible enough” to raise a child.

“I was with James when I went to freeze my eggs and I wasn’t responding well to the hormones so I gave up and thought I would struggle to have a baby,” she said.
