It appears Laura Byrne has made an enemy of her neighbor after police officers kicked in the elderly woman’s door.
The 38-year-old former Bachelor star opened up about the terrifying moment on her podcast Life Uncut on Monday, sharing a clip of it on TikTok.
In the video, the mother of two says she asked neighbors for a welfare check after she noticed food had been sitting outside her front door for hours.
‘I come home from work around 5pm and notice that [my neighbour’s] “The groceries are at the door,” Laura explained.
She also said she told her husband Matty Johnson, who then said the delivery had been there “all day.”
Laura added: ‘I thought, “That makes me feel weird.” Anyway, it was eight o’clock, I stuck my head out, the groceries were still there. So I banged on the door, she didn’t answer.
“I thought, ‘I’m really uncomfortable with this.’ Ten o’clock, still at the door. I’ve never been in a situation where I had to call a welfare check.
‘While I was still on the phone, I heard the sirens coming. A police rescue van also arrived on the street.’

Laura said police tried knocking on the door but got no answer and she became “very worried.”
‘They can’t force the lock, so they start kicking in the door… Then you hear this [old woman’s voice say]“What’s going on?” Laura continued.
“So Iris was sleeping. I didn’t know Iris was deaf too.”
As Laura started laughing at the unfortunate situation, co-host Brittany Hockley joked: “Imagine waking up from a nap and there are 25 police officers in your living room!”

Laura added that her neighbor Iris also didn’t know that groceries were being delivered that day and that she thought they would get them later in the week.
“Now she’s so mad at us. So I saw her over the weekend and she was like, ‘Hi, Iris,’ and she just stared,” Laura explained.
She then joked that Iris had “given me the middle finger” and yelled at her that she “wasn’t dead.”
Listeners came to Laura’s defense and said she did the right thing
However, many Life Uncut listeners stood up for Laura, saying she did the right thing by caring for her elderly neighbor.
“As a healthcare worker who does wellness checks for a living, keep doing it! You could have saved someone’s life. You did the right thing,” one user commented on Instagram.
“If I was an older single person I would be relieved that someone noticed and cared enough to take matters into their own hands. I know you did the right thing!” added another.
