A baby is recovering in hospital after being accidentally dropped in a Bondi Beach parking lot and knocked unconscious.
The family was enjoying New Year’s Day at Bondi Beach on Sunday when the eight-week-old baby accidentally fell out of the arms of a loved one around 7:10 p.m.
Witnesses and Bondi lifeguards were first responders and immediately began CPR on the unconscious baby.

Emergency services, including several ambulances, intensive care units and a rescue helicopter, rushed to the scene.
NSW Police Highway Patrol closed Campbell Parade as the medical team worked tirelessly to get the baby breathing.
Footage showed police holding red sheets to either side of two parked cars, shielding the harrowing scene from the large crowd of onlookers.
Lifeguard Anthony ‘Harries’ Carroll, from the TV show Bondi Rescue, was seen with bloodshot eyes as he crouched down next to the baby and assisted paramedics.
The video also showed a man standing between the two cars holding his head in disbelief before strapping a forward-facing infant harness onto his body.
Paramedics performed CPR for about 25 minutes before the baby regained consciousness and began to cry.
Two paramedics carefully lifted the baby’s small body onto a stretcher and carried it into the back of an ambulance.
He was rushed to Sydney Children’s Hospital and is expected to undergo a comprehensive neurological examination.
New South Wales Police told Daily Mail Australia that the baby is in a critical but stable condition.
