A champion water polo player who murdered her infant daughter could be released from prison in months – as details about her new job and living conditions come to light.

Keli Lane, 48, from Sydney, was sentenced to 18 years in prison in 2010 after a court found her guilty of murdering her daughter Tegan two days after giving birth in 1996.

Tegan’s body was never found.

Now Lane could be released as early as May next year, when she will be eligible for parole.

It is revealed that Lane has been living in a halfway house in western Sydney and has a full-time job processing cartons of milk for the state prisons.

Recent footage has emerged of the baby killer leaving her full-time job — the first time she’s been seen in years.

She is dressed all in black and carries a backpack in the clip.

Lane served her sentence at Silverwater Women’s Correctional Center.

She is considered a “model inmate” and has helped improve the health of other inmates.

“Keli Lane has really been a model prisoner since she was incarcerated,” Dr. Xanthe Mallett told 9News.

“She’s worked with other inmates on diet and exercise and really improved their lives.”

Lane was sentenced to 18 years in prison after a court found her guilty of murdering her daughter Tegan two days after giving birth in 1996.

Lane has always maintained that she never committed murder, a position Dr Mallett says she will maintain after her release.

“Kelly will definitely still want to clear her name. After her release, she will want to maintain her innocence,” she said.
