Baby joy for South Sydney Rabbitohs skipper Cameron Murray just in time for the NRL season

- Have now welcomed their first child
- Teammates and rivals have gathered to congratulate the couple
South Sydney Rabbitohs captain Cameron Murray and fiancée Miranda Cross have welcomed their first child into the world just in time for the NRL’s historic season opener in Vegas.
The couple shared images of their beautiful daughter Avalon on social media after Murray proposed to his partner on a Sydney beach in 2023 after seven years of dating.
“Our little girl is here. Avalon Georgia Murray born February 13, 2024,” Miranda posted.
‘We had the most magical week and loved every moment together. You are more than we could ever have imagined for our Avy girl, perfect in every way.
‘A life together will never be long enough.’

The young couple were congratulated by the Rabbitohs on social media.
“The newest member of the Rabbitohs family,” the club posted.
“Congratulations to Cameron and Miranda on the birth of their beautiful baby girl, Avalon Georgia Murray.”
“A large number of teammates also took to social media to congratulate the young family.
“Congratulations fam. Welcome to the world of Avalon,” Cody Walker wrote.
“Congratulations guys, I can’t wait to meet your little princess,” added hooker Damien Cook.
‘Unreal legends, glad everyone is doing well. Congratulations,” said new recruit Jack Wighton.
And there were also many comments from players from other clubs, including Cowboys bookend Reuben Cotter and Bulldogs star Josh Addo-Carr.
Even AFL star Trent Cochin congratulated the young couple, posting: “Congratulations guys! Such a special time’.
Meanwhile, Souths star half Cody Walker has a ’90 per cent chance’ of recovering from his calf injury in time for South Sydney’s historic season opener in Las Vegas.
Walker was due to captain the Indigenous side in Friday night’s All Stars match but withdrew after adjusting his calf in training.

Latrell Mitchell gave Bunnies fans an injury scare in the All Stars match but will be able to take his place at fullback in Vegas
Since even minor calf injuries can still require weeks on the sidelines, the injury casts doubt on Walker’s ability to perform at Allegiant Stadium on March 3.
Walker was seen with a brace on his right calf as he watched the 28-6 defeat of St George Illawarra in Kogarah on Saturday, but appeared to be able to walk without any problems afterwards.
He will fly to the US with the Rabbitohs early next week and is expected to face Manly.
The 34-year-old’s inclusion would be a major boost for Souths as they look to make an early statement after missing last season’s NRL final.
“Cody has a 90 percent chance of playing,” Souths coach Demetriou said.
“As long as he gets through his rehabilitation sessions early next week, he will join the team and train all week ahead of the first round.”
Souths welcome back Latrell and Shaq Mitchell after both were absent from the Charity Shield win, having played for the Indigenous All Stars the night before.
Damien Cook and Siliva Havili, rested for the win over the Dragons, are also ‘certain starters’ for Las Vegas.
A relieved Demetriou confirmed there had been no new additions to the emergency department on Saturday evening.
