Farmer Wants A Wife lovebirds Matthew Young and Olivia Benic welcomed their first child on Thursday, leaving fans shocked as they kept the pregnancy a secret.
The reality stars, both 25, shared the unexpected photo on Instagram on Monday of them lovingly holding their newborn baby, along with a few touching words.
“286 days of carrying you, eight hours of labor with no pain relief and what felt like a lifetime of waiting… Our little bubba came into our family happy and healthy,” they began.
‘Thank you to our good friends/family/baggy clothes (haha) for helping us to have this amazing experience in complete privacy and for the unconditional support.’
They added that they would now be taking a break from social media to ‘acclimate to parenthood’ and would post more updates when they were ready.
The couple have not revealed the gender or name of their child.
Matt and Olivia, who met on Channel Seven’s matchmaking show in 2023, were quickly inundated with congratulations from their very surprised fans.
“Oh my god. Congratulations, so happy for you both,” cheered their FWAW colleague Claire Saunders, while series veteran Keely McCarthy added: “Congratulations.”

Meanwhile, another fan cheered: ‘Congratulations. How nice that you could do this in private. Everyone deserves that.’
Last year, Farmer Matt came under heavy criticism on the show after he chose Olivia over his other love Annabelle, 22.
Angry viewers thought he preferred the latter option, which caused a bit of a stir when he finally declared his love for Olivia and she did it to him.
They added that they would now be taking a break from social media to ‘settle into parenthood’ and would provide more updates when they were ready.
In one of the episodes, before the finale, drama broke out at Farmer Matt’s dinner table when love rivals Annabelle and Olivia argued over “alone time” with the handsome guy.
Annabelle became jealous when Olivia told her that she and Matt often had a cup of tea together when she went to bed back at the farm.
Matt and Olivia previously revealed that they are still in a good relationship. They shared a photo of them together on the farm with a working dog, with the sweet caption: ‘Forever laughing with you (and Neville).’
