A baseball bat used by Babe Ruth in an exhibition game in 1923 sold for a whopping $1,323,000 last weekend according to a Robert Edward Auctions announcement.

The bat used by Ruth was a Hillerich & Bradsby signature model that he used 100 years ago in an October benefit game, in which he recorded a home run, according to the description.

It measures almost 36 inches long and weighs 41.9 ounces and had no cracks.

The bat also showed typical Ruth wear marks, including the left barrel contact area and a grooved handle.

PSA/DNA found on the bat dates back to a production period of 1922-1924.

The knob, handle and dimensions of the bat’s barrel were also said to be ‘easy to identify’ as a given bat had ordered six times during the labeling period.

Despite the incredibly high price the bat sold for it, it’s not the most expensive Babe Ruth bat sold at auction.

That honor belongs to one of Ruth’s bats that sold for an outrageous $1.85 million in April or this year, which also holds the honor of being the most expensive bat for a player ever.

Another Ruth bat sold in August 2022 for $1.68 million.

Ruth’s bats aren’t the only memorabilia from his storied career selling for big bucks, either.

In November 2022, one of Ruth’s baseball gloves shattered the previous record for the most expensive glove sold at auction for $387,500 when it sold for $1.53 million.
