talking about her postcards from the edge podcast, she said, ‘It’s interesting, it’s the same voice going through my head: you used the word ‘selfish’, that mom has to be ‘selfish’ to do her job.
“It’s interesting, like I see Rob going to do his job, and I don’t think he ever thinks of it as selfish.
“And it’s interesting as women, and I don’t know if that’s because of what we’ve inherited culturally from our mothers and their mothers, and society, and what’s expected of us, how we feel guilty when we go after something that’s ours.” . .

‘Either it feels like it’s at the behest of our children, or that it’s wrong to want those things because it’s selfish, that judgment we put into practice.
‘It’s that thing where you judge yourself and sometimes find it selfish and that voice you have to fight with. As I look at Rob, and I imagine a lot of men, and they don’t feel like he’s selfish.
‘Why do we do that? Why does he suddenly become selfish?

The model and actress said she doesn’t think Williams has ever been asked about feeling “guilty” about leaving her children for work.
She added: “I’ve been there at their interviews and I’ve never heard anyone say, ‘Do you feel guilty about being away from the kids? Or, “Who watches the kids while you’re away?”
