Nauiyu, Daly River attack: Awful moment gang of women storm home and bash a single mum in front of her young child in troubled Outback town

Shocking footage has emerged of a group of attackers bashing a single mother in front of her child in a troubled outback town.

In the video, which was reportedly recorded a fortnight ago in the remote Nauiyu community on the Daly River in the Northern Territory, 250 kilometers south of Darwin, young women and teenagers kicked down a door to get to their victim.

After the flimsy door came off its hinges, the indigenous woman cowering inside received a series of brutal blows to the head from the first attacker before being attacked by a swarm of assailants.

The woman was brutally beaten before falling to the ground, where she lay defenseless like her attackers continued to punch and hit her.

She was heard screaming as her attackers unleashed punches and kicks, and pulled her hair as she desperately tried to defend herself.

The woman’s young child was believed to have been present during the attack.

Darren Clark is administrator of the Action for Alice group, which highlights issues in Alice Springs and the Northern Territory.

He said this kind of chaos has become a normal part of life in the outer reaches of the Top End.

“This violence is far too common in remote communities,” he told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday evening.

“If this were in a regional center or a major city there would be national outrage, but all we hear about this violence is absolute crickets.”

Daily Mail Australia contacted NT Police for further comment.

Locals said the brutal assault was in retaliation for a comment the woman made about a deceased man The Australian.

“There’s a war zone in Australia that no one knows about,” said one local.

Last Tuesday, Nauiyu was targeted by up to 25 people armed with shotguns, axes and crossbows. Four people were injured, one of whom was also shot through the abdomen with an arrow.

Several houses and cars were also set on fire.

Video of the attack showed a stolen vehicle speeding through a scattered crowd before crashing into a house, which caught fire.

An eight-month-old baby was reportedly in the home at the time, although the baby had already been rescued by the time police arrived.

Alice Springs was placed under a curfew from March 27 after a frenzied crowd took to the streets and laid siege to a hotel.

The curfew was lifted on April 16 and the Territory Government created a new squad of 18 police officers to be stationed in Alice Springs to respond to signs of public disorder.
