Rebecca Ferguson has revealed she was in talks to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
The X Factor star appears to have been rejected by her native country and could instead represent other countries after ‘receiving offers’.
The 38-year-old singer from Liverpool, who burst into the spotlight in 2010 with four top 10 albums, hinted to her followers that they could take to the stage in Basel, Switzerland, in May 2025.
During a like Q&A on TikTok, a fan asked Rebecca: “Will you represent Great Britain in the Eurovision Song Contest?”
To which she replied, “Well, I have something to tell you… You know what? No one messaged me… and I… no one messaged me to do it, um, but what’s really interesting is that I’ve had other offers from other countries to take part in Eurovision.
“And what they said is, ‘You can’t do it alone, but you can do it as a duet.’

“So it’s strange for me because other countries have given me the Eurovision Song Contest to sing with their artist. But then I am patriotic for my own country.
“But at the same time I think, ‘Well, my own country didn’t ask me.’
‘So yeah… I’ve had offers to do Eurovision, but not for Great Britain. That’s a shame if I end up having to do it with another country.’
And her honest response caused a huge stir among fans, with one saying: ‘That’s crazy about the Eurovision Song Contest!’
“I’ll sing it with you, whatever it is.”

It comes after Rebecca revealed she didn’t feel ‘physically’ ready to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023 so soon after giving birth, but was determined not to miss the opportunity.
The singer – who welcomed her fourth child in February 2023 – took to the stage in Liverpool during the first semi-final and delivered a stunning rendition of ‘Welcome To Our House’ to the adoring crowd.
But speaking to MailOnline at the time, Rebecca admitted she had doubts about returning to the stage just three months after welcoming her little one – whose name and gender have not been revealed.
She said: ‘Physically I didn’t feel ready. I just had a baby, I haven’t been on a diet. In fact, I can’t diet because I’m breastfeeding.
‘Normally I wouldn’t have done it. I had to ask myself, ”Am I physically ready?”, but then I thought, ”Actually, I’m a mother, I’m breastfeeding and I can do it!”.

‘I’m really aware of how short life is, especially as I get older. I am now very aware of how precious life is and how much time we waste on worry and regret.
‘Giving birth is a risk for women. We worry about bullshit – and I know this was a great opportunity.”
She also rehearsed for the Eurovision Song Contest while breastfeeding, explaining: ‘Normally I’m critical of myself, but I practiced so much – breastfeeding, singing, breastfeeding, singing – that was my preparation.
‘I have rehearsed a lot. I recorded myself and played it over and over again. A lot of thought went into how I was going to sing it for the Eurovision Song Contest. When I came off stage, I knew I had done my best.”
‘Still, I was tired. I breastfed the baby between rehearsals and interviews. Hormonally, when I had to be away from my little one, I thought, ‘Where’s my baby?’
“But I realized how many people were watching me perform, and I was really aware that I had to give a great performance.”
But speaking exclusively to MailOnline at the time, Rebecca admitted she was having second thoughts about returning to the stage just three months after welcoming her little one – whose name and gender have not been revealed.
The former X Factor star and her husband Jonny Hughes announced the arrival of their first child together in February 2023, born on Valentine’s Day
Rebecca told MailOnline how she worked with a stylist to help her feel confident on stage, explaining: ‘I usually choose my own outfits for performances, but because my body has changed from having another baby, I have a stylist named Emily Evans.
‘She came by with lots of dresses and the orange one was in a huge box. When she pulled it out and I put it on, I wasn’t sure at first, but then I thought:
‘Actually, this is the perfect Eurovision dress, it’s quite nice, when else would I be allowed to wear such an extra?’
“I’ve seen some jokes made about my dress, but it doesn’t bother me. It was a bit of fun and I enjoyed not being too serious.
‘After the semi-final I had a glass of wine with Jonny in the hotel bar and watched some of the reactions. We laughed so much watching it!’
After her incredible performance, Rebecca insisted she was enjoying her life at home with her children too much to take on any more gigs at the time.
