Avram Glazer ‘plans to make an exceptional appearance in Man United’s Carabao Cup final against Newcastle at Wembley’… less than 10 days after the club received offers from Qatari Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos.
Avram Glazer is reportedly planning to attend Manchester United’s Carabao Cup final against Newcastle at Wembley on Sunday.
It comes amid the prospect of the Glazer family selling the club after a controversial and debt-ridden 18 years at Old Trafford.
Glazer’s presence at Wembley would no doubt further add to the tension among United fans, who have continued to vent their anger towards the club’s owners even since talks of a sale began.
The club received indicative offers last Friday, with chemicals firm INEOS, run by fan Jim Ratcliffe, and Qatari Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani confirming they had made offers.
Glazer, who has not featured in a United match since the Red Devils’ 2-1 defeat at home to Brighton on the opening day of the season, wants to see the club try to win a trophy for the first time in six years, according to the athletic.

Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS group have submitted offers to buy Manchester United.
During his last outing at United, he and his brother Bryan were met with large banners that read: ‘Fight greed. Fight for United. Fight Glazers’ and ‘We want our club back’.
Banners in United’s traditional gold and green colors and anti-Glazer chants have continued to be displayed and heard in the stands at Old Trafford in recent weeks.
It’s incredibly rare for US owners to make appearances at United games, and it would certainly detract from a big day for both clubs at Wembley.
When the Glazers put the club up for sale in November, it was greeted with relief by United fans, who have always disliked the American family.
While it was understood that the Glazers’ quest to invest in the club would result in a full sale, there has been recent speculation that the family might not relinquish control after all because the proposals put forward are less than £6bn. sterling that Raine, the bank merchant holding the talks, had set.
Indeed, earlier this week, former Man United captain Gary Neville doubled down on his suspicions that the Glazers would stay after the club announced an increase in season ticket prices for the first time in 11 seasons.
Manchester United fans have continued to protest against the club’s ownership despite Glazers accepting offers.
Avram Glazer was last seen watching Manchester United on the opening day of the season.
Fans will receive a five per cent increase on their season tickets for the 2023-24 season, amid ‘challenging’ cost increases on game days.
It has fueled speculation about the Glazers’ intentions, with many wondering why they would suddenly raise prices if they leave.
United legend Neville tweeted: ‘The increase in ticket prices at United is so bizarre! Why would a vendor who leaves before the next season start introduce something that has brought them more hate and which they won’t benefit from?
“Any new buyers would probably freeze the price in the first year to stay on the side of the fans. It begs the question of whether they are actually going! I have my doubts with actions like this!’
