The fantasy role-playing game (RPG) from Obsidian Entertainment Granted now has a slightly more specific release window: it’s launching on PC and Xbox Series|S this fall.
Fall release windows for games generally point to a launch between early September and late November, but Obsidian didn’t provide a specific month or date during today’s (January 18) Xbox Developer_Direct stream. For now, potential players will just have to keep an eye on this space, but the stream also gave us more insight Granted‘s combat system to think about in the meantime.
Granted allows players to use customizable equipment that can be switched during battle, allowing them to take on a variety of enemies using a range of techniques. A few of the options players can choose from were shown, such as the dual wand equipment, which allows you to quickly cast spells at enemies using two separate weapons.
Otherwise, Obsidian teased that certain aspects of the game, such as quests, will allow players to make decisions with “profound consequences.” There will also be a level of moral nuance here, with some decisions not having an immediate ‘right or wrong’ answer. Not only can missions play out differently as a result of your choices, but their outcomes can also be reflected in the world.
The latest images also show more Granted‘s vibrant world of Eora, which is home to a wide range of biomes that the developers describe as “rich, weird and wonderful.” It certainly looks nice, and with Obsidian’s track record of excellent RPGs Fallout: New Vegas And The outside worldsIt looks promising.
Granted will also be playable via Xbox Game Pass from day one.
