Australia’s weirdest online feud fires up again: Abbie Chatfield hits back at Insta-famous pets Peggy and Molly the Magpie’s owners after they called her an ‘attention w***e’

Abbie Chatfield has hit back at the owners of Instagram famous pets Peggy and Molly the Magpie after they called her an attention whore.

The 29-year-old Bachelor star posted a lengthy rant on Instagram on Tuesday, slamming owners Juliette Wells and Reece Mortensen for trolling her under a post she shared in October 2023 in which she wore a revealing outfit.

The topic came up after one of Abbie’s followers commented on one of her posts with, “Abbie, remember when that Peggy and Molly animal account trolled you?”

Abbie responded immediately, admitting in the lengthy clip that she thinks about it “once a week.”

“I think about it about once a week, about the time a Staffordshire bulldog and a magpie harassed me – not them, but their strange, bizarre owners… who harassed me because I was wearing a sexy top,” she said.

Abbie added that she was happy for the animals themselves to receive positive attention and reminded her followers of how the online controversy began.

“Let’s take a look back at the losers who own this account,” Abbie said.

‘It all started when I posted a video saying, “@the table of baby boomers next by me who they they would shame if their daughter wearing that top on”.’

“But then I got a response from Peggy and Molly – official account, you can see it there – and they said, ‘Yeah, look at attention w**re and you’ll see a picture of Abbie Chatfield,’ and that’s when my revenge began.”

Abbie then revealed that she had never heard of the duo, adding that she thought the comment came from a ‘troll’ account and not the verified Peggy and Molly account.

She said that after Mortensen posted several videos about the incident, she claimed their account had been hacked.

“This is not us. Please do some research before commenting,” he wrote in an Instagram comment in response to a follower who was disappointed by his comment. “We have been hacked.”

Abbie continued: ‘First of all, what research? The research is there. It’s a screenshot of a verified account of you trolling me because you forgot to switch to your little troll account, because you’re such a loser, you have a troll account, you f***ing losers, but now they’re getting an animated series.’

‘So when they posted that, I thought, that’s so funny because why would someone hack you to leave one comment on Abbie Chatfield’s post and then respond to a comment saying I’m an attention whore?

‘Wow, how stupid are people, because people say, ‘Honey, they got hacked!’ Do you really mean that? Come on, come on.’

Abbie’s fans were quick to respond to the lengthy clip.

“Are you serious? Did they ever apologize? What a horrible comment,” one follower wrote.

‘I hope they address this on their page ASAP. Hacked haha. Come on. Do they think we’re idiots?’

‘Keep holding people accountable, Abbie,’ said another. ‘The real magpie and Staffordshire terrier would never judge, even if they had thumbs.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Abbie Chatfield, Reese Mortensen and Juliette Wells for comment.
