Australia’s all-pink ‘Barbie’ mansion, built by an American couple, hits the market for $2.5 million

A pastel pink mansion that has been likened to a Barbie dollhouse with its pillars and “sweeping stairs” is up for grabs for a whopping $2.5 million.

The four-bedroom house at 8 Eunamara Retreat in Halls Head, Mandurah, 70 km south of Perth, has lavish interiors and water features.

The home is described as the ‘epitom of opulence’ with water views and a private dock – ‘the perfect place to park your boat’.

It could be good timing for owners, as the upcoming Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie has sparked a global resurgence in interest in the fashion doll.

The Mandurah house was built 20 years ago by a Texas couple who decorated it with lots of marble and granite, reports the Western Australian.

The couple even painted the house a bright pink when the color started to fade.

But current owners Brian and Pauline Packer have toned it down to a dusty pink color.

“People either love it or hate it,” The Agency solicitor Renee Hardman told the paper.

She added that the Mediterranean-themed design is more “South Florida style” than California’s Malibu, where the iconic toy supposedly comes from.

It has marble, granite, and jarrah features throughout the home, while each queen-size bedroom has its own bathroom.

The home also features water features, hardwood floors, two fireplaces, bronze statues, and teardrop chandeliers.

The property also has a private gazebo, landscaped gardens and an outdoor powder room with a shower located near the heated pool.

“For those who enjoy water sports, the large jetty provides the perfect place to park your boat,” the property listing reads.

If it gets a buyer willing to pay the $2.5 million going price, it will become the most expensive sale in Halls Head for 2023.
