Bali brawl: Tattooed holidaymaker stabbed by a broken beer bottle in street fight returns to Australia just days after he was ‘moments from death’ as he bled out from wounds

One of two men stabbed with a broken bottle during a street fight in Bali has returned to Australia just four days after the attack left him ’30 minutes from death’.

Peter Noel Sidney Nye, 28, and his friend Izaeah Wilson, both from Queensland, told police they were attacked outside a mini-mart in Kuta early on Friday morning.

Mr Wilson suffered so much blood loss that he was told if he had not received medical attention within 30 minutes he would have died, while Mr Nye suffered serious injuries to his head and arms.

Photos showed Wilson lying in a hospital bed, covered in bandages and with an oxygen mask over his mouth.

Mr Wilson, originally from New Zealand, is understood to have since flown back to Australia.

He shared an Instagram story his sister posted Tuesday to welcome him home.

“Happy to be back home in Aus, time to come back to New Zealand,” she wrote alongside a photo of the pair together.

“I feel so grateful.”

Mr Wilson reshared the post on his own account, where he also revealed he was ‘healing well’.

“Seven stab wounds later, alive, grateful, persevering,” he said with a selfie of a bandage over his chest.

It is unclear whether Mr Nye has also returned home.

Mr Nye’s girlfriend, Scarlett Carruthers, had previously set up a GoFundMe to help the men with their medical bills.

She claimed that her boyfriend’s medical bill was $50,000 because he had to undergo cosmetic surgery after almost losing his eyesight.

The bill for Mr. Wilson was estimated at $15,000.

Ms Carruthers said the hospital could not carry out the operation until they had paid in advance, admitting they were ‘stupid’ and ‘forgot’ to take out travel insurance for their trip.

“My partner and his friend ended up being stabbed over 20 times in the face, neck, head, eyes, chest, both arms and ear,” she wrote on the fundraiser.

She also claimed the attack happened when the group went out for dinner and went “to bed early” before their flight.

Police sources in Bali told Daily Mail Australia on Monday that Mr Nye and Mr Wilson had been with Mr Nye’s girlfriend at the Shi-Shi Night Club in Seminyak in southern Bali.

The source said a man – believed to be from Ivory Coast – allegedly harassed Ms Carruthers before the three of them left the nightclub.

Mr Nye and Mr Wilson dropped Ms Carruthers off at their villa before buying beer at a shop in North Kuta district.

There they encountered the same man who had previously allegedly harassed Ms Carruthers, along with another man.

A fight broke out after someone shouted ‘f*** you’ at the two Australians.

They allegedly assaulted each other with bare hands and broken beer bottles, leaving the two Australian men with deep cuts to their heads, necks, chests and arms.

After the attack, Mr Nye posted a photo of his medical report at the hospital, saying he was admitted on Friday and discharged on Saturday.

According to the report, he was injured around 6 a.m. Friday and told medical staff that he “got into an argument and was attacked by some strangers.”

“According to the patient, he was stabbed multiple times in the head and arms,” the report said.

Daily Mail Australia suggests no wrongdoing on behalf of the men.

Mr Nye shared a heartfelt post about his partner on Tuesday, thanking her for being there throughout the ordeal.

‘I have so much love for this beautiful woman! Especially in these difficult times!’ He wrote.

‘Has not left my side! Make it a habit to thank people. To sincerely express your appreciation, without expecting anything in return.

“Truly appreciate the people around you, and you will soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you will find yourself having more of it.”

Daily Mail Australia has attempted to contact both men for comment.
