Australians are among the most sexually active people in the world, with the country coming in second behind the Turks, according to one study.
According to research from the World Population Review, Aussies aged 25 to 44 are likely to have an average of 13.3 lifetime sexual partners.
With this number, people from Down Under are well ahead of people from the US, who are in 12th place in the survey with 10.7 partners.
New Zealand comes in third with an average of 13.2 sexual partners, while those in Britain average 9.8.
The average number of sexual partners worldwide is nine.

The data included opposite-sex partners only and was collected by the CDC in 2021.
The ABC reported that the number of sexual partners per person is actually declining – with interest in their phones declining.
Clinical psychologist Daniel Brown from the University of Southern Queensland said Australians are having less sex than they used to.
According to the psychologist, Aussies had sex twice a week on average, this number has dropped to 1.5 times a week.
He said younger Australians are also starting their sexual experiences later.
While those behind the report admitted the data was limited, Australians were quick to think about it.
“They didn’t interview anyone from the eastern suburbs,” one man laughed.
“As long as it’s consensual, they practice safe sex and no one unknowingly does it behind their partner’s back, it shouldn’t matter that much what people do in the bedroom,” one man said.
“Time to get to work everyone, let’s get to number one,” said another.
Some revealed where they were in the data pool.
“Damn, I’m way below average then,” one man laughed.
“I always knew I was an above-average artist,” said another.
However, some wondered if data was missing.
‘Weak. In Eastern Europe these numbers have an extra zero. The study is flawed,” one woman said.
“Australians were the second biggest liars,” said another.
“Remove the comma, make it 133 partners and you’re closer,” said one man.
Many argue that the number would better reflect sexual partners per month for younger, single people and per year for the older part of the group.
Others laughed and said they wished they “had a choice of their phone” when they were younger.
“I wouldn’t have had the pressure to buy Red Rooster for them,” she said.
