Tragedy as young Aussie girl drowns on holiday in Bali – as her devastated family issues a warning every parent should read

A toddler who drowned at her family’s holiday home in Bali has been remembered as the ‘kindest person’ taken far too soon.

Three-year-old Janaa Al Easawi from Sydney was found unconscious in the swimming pool Thursday afternoon at her parents’ villa in Seminyak, near Kuta.

Her father saw her first and immediately rushed out to perform CPR, with the help of a nearby Australian woman who was also on holiday in Bali, after he pulled her from the water.

Before the incident, the family had mistakenly believed that the gate to the pool had been locked.

Janaa was about to celebrate her fourth birthday and was preparing to go to school.

Tragically, she could not be revived.

The family of three holidayed in Bali from their home in Campbelltown last summer.

Her parents hope their pain will raise awareness about pool safety and are now warning others to think twice about booking accommodation with a backyard pool.

Her distraught parents shared a statement after the tragedy.

They said that despite the loss, they were grateful for the time they had with Janaa.

“Her memory will live on forever in the countless moments she gave us,” they say told 7News.

‘Janaa’s smile had the power to light up any room, and her love for her parents, family, friends and her beloved parrot (Coco) was boundless.

“Our dear Janaa, you will be forever loved and forever remain in our hearts.”

Other heartbroken family members also shared tributes, remembering the youngster as ‘beautiful’.

The family are now preparing to fly the body back to Sydney where they will organize a funeral.

Her parents said they want Janaa’s life to be celebrated, but they also hope the tragic story will serve as a warning to others.

A spokesperson for the family said children should always be closely monitored around water, even if it appears a facility has safety measures in place.

Janaa’s parents also advised all parents to teach their children to swim from an early age to avoid similar tragedies in the future.

Janaa had recently started swimming lessons herself.
