Australian Survivor: Simon Mee deletes tweets exposing the show
Australian Survivor star Simon Mee deletes tweets exposing the show’s brutal reality.
An Australian Survivor star has drawn attention after posting, then promptly deleting, a tweet exposing the harsh reality of filming the show.
Simon Mee spoke about the harsh conditions of the Samoan beach camp on Twitter on Wednesday, but his post didn’t stick around for long.
The 33-year-old carpenter’s tweet was in response to another upload from a Survivor meme account about his blowup with Gerry Geltch.
The scene in question involved touring driver Gerry berating Simon for laying the tribe’s firewood.
“Poor Simon, he can’t even do his firewood chores right,” the account manager wrote.

Simon responded with a tweet explaining that the couple’s feud actually stemmed from larger issues over privilege and where the contestants slept.
“You can always tell a lot about the pecking order of the tribe by sleeping arrangements,” he wrote.
‘Gerry slept in the middle of the shelter with the blanket every night. But when he collected firewood, he stacked it at the end of the shelter.
‘Which also happened to be my bed.’
The 33-year-old carpenter’s tweet about living conditions in the camp was in response to another upload from a Survivor meme account about his fight with Gerry Geltch.
In a separate, since-deleted tweet, Simon explained that he would have to move firewood every time he wanted to use his space, which was located in a less protected area of the refuge.
Former Survivor star Matt Tarrant confirmed Simon’s account of life in the camp and offered some advice to future contestants.
‘This is legitimate very true. Never sleep on the edge of the bed at camp. I’d let you sleep on top of me if you wanted Simo,” Matt tweeted.

‘Thanks, Matt,’ Simon replied.
“I remember how excited I was when I was able to get under the canvas for the first time after Shaun left.”

This season, returning stars Jackie Glazier and Villainous Tribe ‘King George’ Mladenov suffered injuries at the same time while attempting a hurdle in the first immunity challenge during the season premiere.
In 2017, Henry Nicholson, Locky Gilbert, and Luke Toki detailed how the tribe went without food for three days, suffered two cases of hypothermia, and weathered a devastating cyclone.
‘tarzan [Mark Herlaar] we broke our flint so we couldn’t make a fire, so we didn’t eat for three and a half days and passed out,” Locky said..
Returning stars Jackie Glazier and ‘King George’ Mladenov, of the Villains tribe, suffered injuries at the same time attempting a hurdle in the first immunity challenge.
The decision to film the series in Samoa that year fell through after a cyclone devastated the region.
“We were all gathered around the fire trying to cover it, it was raining, Tarzan staggers, falls to the ground…” Locky added.
“So I picked him up and he was blank and he passed out so I had to throw him over my shoulders and run 200 meters to the doctor.” That was the craziest thing for us.
George and Jackie were unable to execute the landing.
