AFL star Shaun Hampson voted against Australian Survivor: Heroes v Villains in ‘heartbreaking’ moment
Shaun Hampson is the 16th contestant to be eliminated from Australian Survivor: Heroes v Villains.
The former Carlton and Richmond player, 34, said the courier mail it was a ‘heartbreaking’ moment as he thought he had a chance to win the season.
It was his second appearance on the Channel Ten show, and his first appearance in 2019 saw him sent off on the 32nd.
“After the last time, I really wanted to win,” he said Tuesday.
“I wasn’t going to challenge myself or make my kids proud, I just wanted to go all the way, so it was heartbreaking to be honest.”

He continued, “I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to play for the second time, but it feels incomplete. After Shonee left, I thought I could see a path to victory, but I didn’t.
Host Jonathan LaPaglia revealed earlier this year that filming season 10 turned out to be an exhausting experience.
He told The Daily Telegraph that the production was affected by food poisoning and covid-19.

Changing the filming location from the Australian outback to Samoa also brought challenges caused by the elements.
With a new ‘Heroes v Villains’ theme this year, past contestants have clashed with new ones as ‘good’ meets ‘evil’.
LaPaglia believed that all returning contestants were at great risk given the fast-paced nature of the competition.
Seven contestants remain, four of whom are Survivor veterans.
