Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr reveals secret health disorder: ‘The doctors don’t have answers’
Miranda Kerr revealed this week that she is suffering from proctitis, a form of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
The Australian supermodel, 41, announced the confession on Tuesday Gand The Shinesays she drinks one liter of organic celery juice a day to combat it.
She has been drinking the beverage every morning before eating for the past six years to take advantage of the vegetable’s anti-inflammatory benefits.
“It’s an autoimmune thing and she [doctors] don’t necessarily have the answers as to why, which is frustrating,” Kerr said of her condition.
The former Victoria’s Secret model said she was diagnosed with proctitis while pregnant with her second son Hart, whom she shares with husband Evan Spiegel.
Kerr revealed that she has a special drawer in her refrigerator that she keeps stocked with celery by visiting the local farmers market twice a week.
The brunette believes that drinking a liter of celery juice every day has improved her gut health. Her recent colonoscopy revealed that she is in remission.
Kerr went on to say that she tries to encourage her family to drink the juice as well.
