I spotted a gorgeous ‘pen holder’ while vintage shopping – then I found out it was a toilet brush holder from Kmart

An Australian woman has warned others to ‘be careful’ when shopping vintage after coming across a Kmart toilet brush holder being sold as a marble pen holder.

The Melbourne customer was browsing a local thrift store when she saw the product with a price tag of $22.

However, the famous Anko sticker on the bottom had not been removed and she quickly realized that it was a toilet brush holder.

“I’m just here admiring this marble pen holder… marble pen holder they think,” she said in a TikTok video.

“Flip it over, Kmart toilet brush – literally a Kmart toilet brush but advertised as a marble pen holder.”

A woman was shopping at a thrift store when she saw a marble pen holder for $22, but upon closer inspection it turned out to be a Kmart toilet brush holder

The Kmart Toilet Brush Set costs just $15 when you buy it new and comes with a black brush.

In the TikTok video, the woman holds the product and turns it over, revealing the dirty sticker underneath.

The video quickly caught the attention of the masses and thousands were left in disbelief. The clip itself was viewed more than 276,000 times.

“Ah yes, vintage Kmart,” one wrote, while another said: “I love that they didn’t even bother to remove the label.”

“A whole new fear of putting pens in my mouth,” a third added.

“At least they’re not selling it for $125,” someone else joked, referencing the drama between influencer Sopha Dopha and small business owner Shelby Sherritt.

One person gave the store the benefit of the doubt and encouraged others to let store employees know.

‘Sometimes they don’t know. I’ve told a vintage shop before that a wire basket was from Kmart and they were shocked!’ she said.
