Kmart shoppers across Australia are baffled after noticing an entire section that has ‘virtually no stock’ available: ‘What’s the problem?’
- Shoppers have noticed that Kmart beauty sections across the country are empty
- A customer complained about the lack of stock in an online video
- Kmart responded by saying that many beauty items sold out at Christmas
Kmart customers have shared their frustration after noticing that the beauty section at many stores across the country is nearly empty.
Sydney buyer Meaghan posted a video to TikTok complaining about the aisles of nearly empty shelves where makeup, toiletries and personal hygiene products are often displayed.
Beauty lovers from Australia and New Zealand responded by saying they had noticed the same thing at their local Kmart, forcing the retailer to respond to the concerns.

Kmart shoppers have been baffled, as many have noted that the beauty sections at their local stores barely have any products in stock.
Sydney shopper Meaghan shared a video on TikTok of a store’s nearly empty beauty shelves and displays. Many in the comments said the same was true of the Kmarts they had visited.
‘Does all of Kmart’s beauty stock get sent to a different state or something?’ Meaghan, known as Organized M online, asked in the clip.
“I’ve been in a couple of stores in Sydney recently and they all looked like this,” he said, showing the empty shelves and displays.
The professional organizer said that the store she was in was the “worst” she had ever seen and that there was almost nothing available in the beauty section.
‘There are loads of shampoo this Monday, but where is everything else? What is the support?’ she said.
“This is ELF, I always want it, but it’s never here,” she added as she showed the screen with just a handful of items hanging on it.
Meaghan’s clip has been viewed over 133,400 times and many viewers have been scratching their heads over the bizarre stock issue.
“He’s not hiding here in WA, we don’t have anything either,” said one woman.
“Same in Melbourne, don’t know where they get all the TikTok girls from but my Kmarts are empty,” a second wrote.
“I’ve been in about six different Kmarts lately and the shelves are empty,” said a third.
Commenters from Brisbane, Christchurch, Newcastle, Canberra, Gold Coast, Darwin, Townsville, and Hobart also reported the same issue in beauty aisles.
Some employees said it’s because stores are preparing to do their annual inventory, but a Kmart spokesperson told FEMAIL that many beauty products sold out over Christmas and they are working to restock shelves shortly.
“Our range of affordable beauty products has been very popular with customers, especially in recent months as we saw many popular products sell out quickly over the Christmas period,” they said.
“The team has been working hard to keep the shelves full and we expect more stock to hit the stores soon.”
