Australian mums dumbfounded by bizarre image of a common buy: ‘It looks… X-rated’

A bizarre photo has left thousands of mums scratching their heads, with many confused by its resemblance to an X-rated body part.

An Aldi customer was recently stunned to find a strange stringy white film, believed to be mold, on her potatoes.

She posted a photo online asking for help, not expecting her innocent question to spark such a suggestive conversation.

Some concluded it was a spider web or a fungus, but hundreds couldn’t help but notice how much the image resembled a man’s testicles.

“I bought the brushed potatoes on Saturday and opened my usual container for storing potatoes and they look like this,” she said two days later. “Any idea, because I’ve never seen this before.”

Hundreds flocked to the post to share their hilarious observation.

“I thought this was one of my crazy mom groups and the second picture was a testicle,” one person said.

“I’m glad I’m not alone with my dirty mind,” another commented.

A nurse said, “Same thing, I thought it was a vet page and it was testicles.”

“The (close-up) photo definitely looks like it’s a bag resting on the skin, why does the background look like a belly with some hair?” someone asked.

“That, my friend, is called a dangling berry,” one woman teased.

“I won’t even say what I thought these were, but I definitely wasn’t thinking about potatoes,” another added.

A few others tried to get to the heart of the problem.

“I thought they were coconuts,” said one.

“Mold – and the potatoes are no longer safe to eat,” wrote another. “It looks like mushroom spores.”

“Maybe it’s a spider nest or some other insect that got into it. Best to throw it away,” said one mother.
