Mom uses the mixture as a seasoning to make roasted vegetables and chicken thighs taste ‘amazing’. Fans of the mic believe it can be used in “almost every dish,” but say it works particularly well for adding flavor to meats.
‘I’m not sure if everyone is aware or knows about this. But I have been putting this on my chicken and vegetables for my family,” the mom said when she shared the hack.
She explained that her four-year-old only had one chicken thigh for dinner, so she tried the seasoning to encourage him to eat his vegetables.
“My four-year-old son told me ‘mommy this is delicious’, now he eats all his dinner and asks for more.”
She said the flavor is fantastic but ‘hard to describe’ as it doesn’t have a strong onion flavor.
The package is made with 33% dehydrated onion, as well as cornmeal, salt, sugar, potato starch, aromas and colourings. It is designed to be washed down with boiling water to create enough soup for four people.
Foodies immediately took to the post to warn the mom to keep the trick down.
‘Shhhh, don’t tell everyone, my local stores are always out because it’s so popular,’ said one woman.
‘Quickly delete this post so no one else sees it. It’s already so hard to find,” another commented.
I haven’t seen him in a week. People are stocking it when he hits the shelves,” wrote another.
Several admitted they “gave in and bought 10 packets,” while one woman even said she planned to “buy a popsicle” of the soup mix the next time she’s in the store.
Hundreds have also shared their favorite ways to use the seasoning packet, and the combinations seem endless.
‘It was my grandmother’s secret ingredient. I used it in dumplings, salty ground beef…so good! a woman remembered.
