The decision follows a wave of public and industry criticism over last season’s age limit, which was set at 28.

“While nothing is finalized yet, it is unlikely that Meghan will return as she has just given birth and will have a newborn baby when the auditions begin,” the insider revealed.
In a move that will sound like music to many ears, the network has now raised the age limit for the series, making it more inclusive.

Hopeful contestants vying for a spot in this year’s vocal showdown should clear their calendars for at least 40 days between September 1 and March 31.
Candidates must demonstrate their singing ability through the initial Zoom audition process.
