Australian influencer splashes a whopping $43.5million on a lavish harbourside Sydney mansion

Renowned Australian food blogger Stephanie Conley-Buhre has spent a whopping $43.5 million on a mansion overlooking Sydney Harbour.

Located in chic Bellevue Hill, 5km from the CBD, the sprawling ‘Italian’ pad features seven bedrooms and five bathrooms.

The new purchase comes after the social media star and her husband, venture capitalist Oscar Buhre, netted an eye-watering $50 million windfall after selling their neighboring mansion off the market for $80 million in June.

The couple’s latest trophy home, known as ‘Monkton’, is spread over 1,252 square meters and offers stunning views of Sydney’s famous harbour.

According to The Wentworth CourierInsiders say the couple sealed the deal on the sprawling estate in September.

Designed by renowned Australian architect Espie Dods, the century-old vintage home is epically scaled and equipped with extravagant elegance.

Features include columns, a spiral staircase, an opulent entrance hall, grand ceilings and extensive gardens.

There are also multiple outdoor entertainment areas, a guest wing, a formal dining room and a private lounge.

After refurbishing it in 2021, the couple added an internal swimming pool, three kitchens, a home gym, a day spa and a rumpus room.

Other attractions include a ballroom, private chapel, ladies’ and gents’ toilets, a spiral staircase and a lift to all levels.

There is a home office, billiards room, internal gym and sauna, large wine cellar, catering kitchen and secure garage for three cars and additional guest parking.

In an interview with Home Beautiful magazine this year, the couple described how the house had been neglected for almost four decades when they bought it.

At the time, the house included a ballroom, a private chapel, a self-contained caretaker’s cottage and some of the best views from Bellevue Hill.

The renovation and restoration were inspired by a trip to Spain to find ideas and finishes.

News of the deal emerged after a caveat was placed on the property’s title on Thursday, revealing that an overseas-based expat, Hannah Chapman, had purchased the renovated home.

The settlement will show whether Alcooringa surpasses last year’s estimated $80 million sale of Elizabeth Bay’s Spanish Mission residence Boomerang by billionaire Lindsay Fox’s family, which ranks as the fifth most expensive home sale in Sydney.

The four-story 1930s mansion, designed by architect F. Glynn Gilling, was originally called Biscaya.

They bought it in 2018 for $17.1 million and sold it three years later after a renovation and new garden for $30 million.
