Australian DJ living in Vietnam airport after making a mistake with a Visa while booking his holiday
Australian DJ stuck at a Vietnam airport for two days after making a critical mistake booking an overseas holiday: ‘This broke me’
An Australian influencer and DJ is stuck at a Vietnam airport after making a critical mistake when booking his trip abroad.
Sydney’s Levi Neufeld has been sleeping in a transit room at Ho Chi Minh Saigon Airport for more than 24 hours after forgetting to apply for a transit visa for India, one of the stopovers on a trip to Dubai.
Neufeld, known for his brief appearance on The Voice as the hot door guy and more recently as Brent Vitiello’s best man in Married At First Sight, documented his unplanned extended layover in Vietnam on Instagram.
Despite not intending to leave the airport in India, Neufeld was not allowed to board his connecting flight to Dubai and was promptly sent back to Vietnam.
All passengers wishing to make a stopover in India must apply for a transit visa for the sole purpose of entering the airport.

His passport was seized in India, given to a flight crew and is now in the hands of ‘officials’ in Vietnam as he awaits his flight back to Australia.
“I flew for 20 hours, from Sydney to Vietnam and then from Vietnam to India. And then I had a connecting flight from India to Dubai, but I was not told to get a visa for India,” he explained in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
“This broke me.
“They are forcing me to stay here in Vietnam for the next 27 hours. So a day and a bit. They put me in a transit room.’
Despite the setback, Neufeld remains resilient and vows to document his unexpected sojourn through a TikTok series and update his followers on his situation.

Neufeld has compared himself to Tom Hanks in the movie The Terminal.
Hanks’ character is stranded in an airport with nowhere to go when war rages in his fictional country of Krakozhia.
He is forced by officials to remain at the airport for nine months until his original identity is confirmed.
He even took the opportunity to review the food at the airport and give his followers a glimpse into his makeshift shower situation.
Neufeld also posted a photo of a garbage can with a sign asking people not to urinate in it.
“Who the hell would pee in a trash can? And then I realized it’s the international airport and it’s a pretty lawless place. So check out,” he said.
Notorious for his brief stint on The Voice as the ‘hot door guy’ and more recently as Brent Vitiello’s best man in MAFS, Levi is no stranger to the spotlight
