Australian celebrities Sophie Monk, Rebecca Judd and Samantha Jade lead engagement congratulations for Delta Goodrem and longtime boyfriend Matthew Copley

Australian A-listers have taken to social media to congratulate Delta Goodrem on her engagement to her long-time boyfriend Matthew Copley.

From WAGs to singers, the 38-year-old was showered with supportive comments after the couple announced their engagement on Thursday.

Delta’s famous friends lead the charge, with Sophie Monk, Roxy Jacenko, Rebecca Judd and Samantha Jade all congratulating their soon-to-be-married friend.

The singer shared a sweet snap of the couple on holiday in Malta before showing off her stunning diamond ring.

“My best friend asked me to marry him,” Delta giddily captioned the image, alongside a ring emoji.

“Yayyyyy congratulations,” said Sophie Monk while Amy Shark wrote: “Congratulations!!”

Samantha Jade also said: ‘Congratulations!!!!!’

“Congratulations gap x,” Rebecca Judd added. ‘Soooo exciting. Also that ring, perfection,” said Renee Bargh.

‘Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh beautiful people, congratulations, really precious!

So happy for you both,” Kate Ceberano commented.

Delta has dated quite a few famous faces, including Nick Jonas, Brian McFadden and tennis great Mark Philippoussis.

But much less is known about the singer’s current boyfriend, Matthew Copley.

In 2018, she told InStyle Australia that she had made a “conscious decision” to keep her love life private.

“I made a choice that I’m not even going to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’… I didn’t say anything for three or four years,” she stated.

As a result, Delta and Matt never appear on the red carpet together and the Born to Try hitmaker rarely goes into details about her relationship in interviews.

She finally broke her silence in February this year in Australian Women’s Weekly, confessing: “He’s my guitarist, I met him through music.”

“It’s incredible to be on stage with him because he’s so talented. We are truly a team. He is my best friend, he is kind and a beautiful person,” she continued.

‘I’m very lucky. It’s all very natural and I think it comes from a beautiful respect and love. I feel so grateful.’

Despite her comments, Delta insisted she did not want to share any further details about her husband.

“I learned quite young that I like to keep some of that private.” I’ve always been so understanding that I’ve been in the public eye since I was a teenager, but I also think it’s nice to keep some things to yourself.”

Although Matthew is best known as his girlfriend’s guitarist, he has also worked with some other big names in the industry, including Conrad Sewell.

The couple even went into business with their own independent record label called ATLED Records (ATLED is Delta spelled backwards).
