Australian actress reveals director’s shockingly inappropriate request when she was just 18

A former Australian actress turned podcaster has opened up about a shockingly inappropriate request a film director once made to her while they were working together.

Ruby Hall, who starred in Channel Nine’s children’s comedy series The Sleepover Club from 2006 to 2007, revealed about her Inherited podcast that a director once asked to kiss her.

“I think that was part of why I lost my confidence as a young artist. When I was younger, I was confronted by a male director,” Ruby began.

“We were rehearsing for a fringe show and this is right after I graduated high school, so I was 18.

‘I remember one night after rehearsal we were in the theater room and he gave me a lift home.

‘We were working closely together and he said, ‘I want you to kiss me in this room right now.’ He was older than me, he must have been in his mid-twenties.’

Hall said she flatly refused his request, which was not done as part of an audition, which made the rest of their interactions very awkward.

‘I said, “No, why should I, we stopped rehearsing.” He looked at me, quite shocked. Then he had to give me a lift home, which was difficult.’

‘I inherited this strength from my mother and grandmother, who showed me from an early age what was and was not okay, and what I had to accept.’

She did not reveal the identity of the director in question.

Ny Breaking Australia has contacted Hall for comment.

Many of Hall’s followers quickly took to the comments section to applaud her courage in speaking out.

“SO proud of you for sharing this,” one person wrote.

‘Crying. I love you beautiful,” a second follower added.
