A young woman has been criticized for the ‘revealing’ and ‘inappropriate’ dress she chose for her brother’s wedding. Many claim that she wants to distract attention from the bride.
Clara* recently asked for advice on what accessories to wear to the upcoming ceremony and added a photo of her dress in a popular Facebook group.
The Australian woman planned to wear Michael Lo Sordo’s Chainmail Split Column Maxi Dress ($1,190).
The floor-length dress is partially backless and has a hip-high slit. The material is close-fitting and designed for a snug fit.
Many were quick to point out that the sparkling silver dress is “unusual” for a guest – even a bridesmaid like Clara – and they couldn’t understand why she would want to wear something so racy to her brother’s wedding.

“It’s bad etiquette to outshine the bride on her day, even if you’re so hot!” Don’t go there honey, you’ll get attention for asking for the wrong reasons,” one person said.
“Definitely not appropriate on any level for a wedding,” chided another.
One woman wrote: ‘In my experience, the back and side views of a dress are not appropriate for luxury wedding attire.’
‘Absolutely not. What are you trying to do?’ one asked. ‘

Clara was shocked by all the reactions and revealed that the bride had chosen the dress for her.
“The designer tailors the dress to my body so it’s not so revealing,” she said. “The bride picked this for me.”
A few complimented her fine taste and suggested she ignore the critics.
‘Astonishing! You’ll look unreal!’ said a woman.
“The bride’s dress has to be wild to top this one,” another added.
‘This is a beautiful dress that needs no justification or explanation. I think you will look beautiful and I hope you enjoy your brother’s wedding,” a third wrote.
