A long-awaited affordable perfume is being compared to an expensive Tom Ford fragrance, making buyers go crazy for the fake natural scent.
The new recreation LOST IN THE TWILIGHT ($119) The perfume attracted a waiting list of more than 12,250 buyers ahead of its launch, and early reviews have shown it to be better than Tom Ford’s Vanille Fatale ($405), which costs more than four times as much.
Australian celebrities including Elle Ferguson, Martha Kalifatidis, Eileen Cassidy and Tina Provis have also been fans of Recreation for years, and a number of influencers have already shared rave reviews of the latest fragrance.
“I wore this today and a woman followed me down the street asking what it was! Divine,” said influencer Cathy Evans.
During the brand’s EOFY sale last month, shoppers were treated to a sample of the new affordable luxury perfume, which was described as “hypnotic and decadent,” and raved about the new scent.

The new fragrance is described as a brand new take on classic vanilla scents, with multi-dimensional spices where seductive saffron and spicy myrrh merge with coffee and tender plum. It is an unashamed eye-catcher.
“LOST IN DUSK took almost three years to make,” Recreation founder Nedahl Stelio told FEMAIL.
‘There was a lot of back and forth between the perfumer and me, because I work with world-renowned, international perfumers to create all of our fragrances.

‘I’m not a fan of traditionally sweet vanilla perfumes and I wanted a scent that was sexy and sophisticated.
‘LOST IN DUSK is a spicy, sexy vanilla with hints of amber and whiskey. It’s sultry and sophisticated, perfect for a night out with notes of vanilla, saffron, amber, spice, bergamot, oakmoss. It’s beyond beautiful and completely addictive.’
Customers were able to try out the striking scent during the brand’s end-of-year sale and have been waiting with their phones ever since for the fragrance to go on sale.

‘I have been using only natural products for nine years, since I had trouble getting pregnant and I cut all chemicals out of my life.’
‘Perfume is one of the worst offenders, but there was no clean, luxurious perfume for sale. That’s when I knew I had to create something that was as safe as it was beautiful and luxurious. And so, in 2019, Recreation was born.’
