Australia Post driver’s unexpected reason for not delivering a parcel to Sydney address

A disgruntled customer has taken to social media to attack a postman who failed to deliver her package because they had nowhere to park.

The North Manly woman shared a photo of the note scrawled on her package and captioned, “Why is this a reason not to deliver the mail!”

The message ‘can’t find parking’ is scrawled in blue pen below the Pittwater Road address.

“Sorry, ma’am doesn’t like me parking at the apartment complexes,” the driver added.

The woman went on to say that she should go pick up the package from a nearby post office.

Australia Post is investigating the incident, a spokesman said Yahoo News.

“The vast majority of items delivered by Australia Post reach their destination safely,” they said.

“In this case, it is clear that something has gone wrong and we are investigating.”

iIt is within protocol not to deliver the package if the driver does not have safe access to a property, the spokesperson clarified.

“Australia Mail deliverers and postmen will make every effort to park nearby to make their deliveries,” the spokesperson said.

“They are instructed to leave a card in the mail under certain circumstances, including if they are unable to access a property due to access or security issues.”

This is because frustrated customers across the country have been left with excessive delays due to their packages taking a major detour.

A Western Australian man shared on Facebook how his package to Perth ended up across the country in Australia Post’s ‘listed stuff’.

Whenever the package appeared to reach a new location, he was notified by the Australia Post app and watched as his package first arrived in Sydney before being processed in Parkes, NSW.

It was then processed in Brisbane before being returned to its state of origin at the Boorna Wangkiny Mia facility in Washington, but it didn’t stop there.

Bruce, another dissatisfied customer, watched his package travel approximately 11,000 miles on its 18-day journey through Australia’s southeastern states (pictured)

The pack again returned to Parkes, then headed to Kemps Creek, Seven Hills, and finally Pendle Hills.

“Package is now on its way back to Sydney,” the man wrote.

‘He has now covered more than 10,000 kilometers. I talked to someone about it this morning to try and stop it.”

Another disgruntled customer watched helplessly for nearly three weeks as his Australia Post package made an expedition across the country – despite the package being shipped just two hours away.

Bruce, a Gold Coast resident, told Ben Fordham on 2GB that he could see all the stops his pack of supplements made on the mammoth journey.

Bruce said the order, which he placed every six months, usually went off without a hitch and always arrived a few days after placing it, as all he had to do was travel from northern NSW to the Gold Coast.

But this time, the package made several rounds around the country, visiting every eastern state instead of directly traveling the 100 miles between sender and receiver.

Australia Post advised those experiencing delivery issues to call 13 POST for assistance.
