Australia Post driver’s ‘stupid’ delivery forces Queensland woman to search 800-acre outback property

A frustrated woman has called Australia Post after her parcel was left under a random tree on her 800-hectare property.

Central Queensland woman Heidi spoke out about her ordeal on Sunday after receiving a notification that her package had been delivered by Australia Post.

“Thanks Australia Post, just when I thought you guys couldn’t get any dumber,” she said.

‘I received a message earlier that my package has been delivered. Normally it will be delivered to our local stores as we are not exactly in town.

‘I’m going to the store… the store doesn’t have it.

“I checked the Australia Post (app) and they say they left it in a safe place.”

Heidi further explained that the package was not left in the driveway of her home or at the gate.

Instead, the delivery person had taken a photo of the package under a tree – one of thousands on the large site that look identical.

“I just found my package, which is worth a hundred dollars,” she said.

“Any sensible person, you’d think, would pull into the driveway to the house at the top and leave it there.

‘But no, not this clown. (They thought), “I’ll just drive in, pick a tree and hope the owner finds it.

“Thank God the owner found it.”

She then turned the camera to show the package lying on a stump under a tree.

“Just by sheer luck I had no idea what tree this was under,” she said.

‘Low and behold, here it is.

‘Cheers Australia Post, well done.’

Sparsely populated and rural areas often need to collect mail from the nearest Australian Post Office.

Daily Mail Australia understands the strange delivery was made by a new driver who did not understand the route or rural delivery system.
