Inside the bizarre life of Australia’s very own Donald Trump

An Australian man named Donald Trump at birth and now spending his life impersonating the former US president says he plans to eventually rule the country.

The 33-year-old became an overnight celebrity after appearing at Sydney Downing Center Court wearing a blonde wig, navy suit, signature red tie and bright orange tan. He was also flanked by bodyguards.

He was charged with assault after allegedly taking his driver’s license from a woman outside a nightclub in the Sydney suburb of Darlinghurst when she refused to give it back.

However, Trump’s appearance in court this week was fleeting as the prosecutor dropped the assault charge.

“I don’t consider myself an impersonator, just a man trying to live with his beautiful, wonderful name,” he told Daily Mail Australia from his home in the Newcastle suburb of Jesmond.

‘Everywhere I go, people line up to have their picture taken with me.

“People invite me to their homes, they invite me to shopping centers and even car yards.”

Speaking to A Current Affair last year, Mr Trump told the program his name was Jay Morgan, but in court documents and with the Australian Electoral Commission his name is listed as Donald Jay Trump.

“It’s the name I was born with,” he said, adding that his parents were unaware of America’s Donald Trump at the time and that it was just a coincidence.

Trump, who studied business at the University of Sydney, started dressing and talking like the 45th US president three years ago and “hasn’t looked back.”

And just like the better-known Trump, he also likes to be involved in real estate.

“A typical day for me is negotiating with the property industry in Newcastle,” he said.

‘I look at building and renovating apartments. There are so many that need to be torn down and rebuilt. I’m thinking of calling it Trump Apartments.”

Trump also has another lofty plan: to become Prime Minister of Australia within ten years.

“I don’t like the way politics is done in this country and have basically avoided politics my whole life,” he said.

“This country needs a leader who can help the Australian people, and the Albanian is not that man.”

Trump said his policies would include “giving the Australian public a voice.”

“I would like to give every Australian citizen a voice and a choice about what to do,” he said.

“I want to make America, Australia and the world great again.”
