Australia Day 2023: TikTok influencer Fidan Shevket targeted by Invasion Day trolls

A divorce lawyer and prominent TikToker has been attacked by ruthless trolls just for telling her 131,000 followers about a restaurant’s Australia Day deal.

Fidan Shevket, who posts as Fidan_tok, recorded a paid restaurant review on the social media platform and revealed his free prawn cocktail offer for Australia Day.

She says in the video: ‘This Australia Day, January 26, if you book a table at any of the Kickin’ Inn restaurants, you’ll get a free shrimp martini on the house.

“I have to let you know of that, since it’s part of the collaboration thing: full disclosure.”

Thirty seconds later in the video, he shows the entree, adding, ‘This is the shrimp martini. Look at the size of this damn thing!

‘You get one of these free if you book for Australia Day, okay?’

But that was the trigger for a brutal hate campaign in which she was branded a racist and personally attacked, and her law firm was the target of hateful one-star reviews.

“I am not a racist and my casual comments have been taken out of context,” the Sydney mother of twins told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday.

‘I have definitely been misquoted and misunderstood. I didn’t even say Happy Australia Day!

But just the mention of Australia Day and the promotion of the free deal at the Crows Nest Kickin’ Inn Cajun restaurant on Sydney’s North Shore sparked a furious reaction.

Fat ignorant COWWWWWW!!!! Get your ass back on Tiktok and SORRY! You look like shit,’ one told him.

TikTok influencer and divorce lawyer Fidan Shevket (pictured) was savagely attacked by ruthless trolls for telling her 131,000 followers about the restaurant’s Australia Day sale.

He then recorded a second video to try to explain that he was simply using the name of the holiday that’s on the calendar… but that sparked even more furor.

‘I didn’t come up with Australia Day, okay?’ she said in the now-deleted video. It is Australia Day on the calendar. I didn’t make it up. That’s what it’s called.

‘Now it is not called invasion day on the calendar. It’s called Australia Day. So I am allowed to call it that.

‘Secondly, it’s a public holiday. I am allowed to celebrate a holiday. I am in favor of public holidays. I love my holidays, and it’s a family day.

‘So I’ll spend the day with my family and have a good day.’

His Fox and Staniland law firm was attacked by trolls with a series of one-star reviews on Google, where the lawyer was once again personally attacked.

‘The firm should not be associated with racists and bigots. It will always reflect badly on the company,’ said one.

“I would not recommend going to this law firm and seeing an uneducated white supremacist attorney thriving on his own privilege while working on Indian land,” added another.

‘Fidan celebrates genocide… how can you trust someone like that? Nasty!’ he criticized one, while another added: ‘Fidan is ignorant and arrogant. Do better.’

A third video was also posted to further clarify previous posts and was later deleted after she told followers: “I’m still here, even though a lot of people say it should be cancelled, and they’re coming after me with pitchforks. “.

‘I’m still here. I maintain my right to express my opinion.

Fedan Shevket was branded a racist and trolls said she supported genocide for referencing Australia Day

She told Daily Mail Australia: “All I did was promote a free prawn cocktail on January 26 as a paid collaboration and said I like the holidays and I’ll spend it with my family.”

“I don’t celebrate what the day stands for (I don’t wave an Australian flag in the harbor or condone the killing of Aboriginal people) but January 26th is a holiday that everyone should or should NOT celebrate the day in their own way.

‘Apparently that is racist, ignorant and disrespectful. I didn’t mean to offend anyone or insult anyone.

“I’ll do another TikTok soon, but I didn’t want to do one today on a day when some people are in mourning.”

She says she has been comforted by the hundreds of messages she has received in support of the bitter dispute and plans another video to apologize to anyone who has been offended.

“That, of course, was never my intention,” he added.
