A top Sydney restaurant has announced a surprise move for the brand’s future that no one saw coming.
Celebrity hotspot Bondi Icebergs Dining Room and Bar will open a spin-off venue at Sydney Airport in mid-2025.
Restauranteur Maurice Terzini told it Sydney Morning Herald that the popular spot has ‘a licensing agreement’ with food and beverage operator Airport Retail Enterprises.
He also said Carl Pickering, the Italian architect who designed the restaurant in the eastern suburbs, has already mapped out the airport’s location.
“In some ways it’s even more beautiful [than Bondi]’, said Mr Terzini. ‘The assignment was to record the DNA of the icebergs. It’s very elegant and has the same colours.’

The venue will combine the luxurious appeal of Bondi restaurant with convenient airport cuisine.
Mr. Terzini wants to focus on coffee and Italian breakfast items, but also wants to have a fully functional bar.
He shared plans for grab-and-go items, fresh baked goods, collaborations with popular Sydney bakeries and more.
The restauranteur believes an Icebergs location at Sydney Airport can offer travelers a unique experience from the start, bringing a ‘piece of Sydney’s heart’ to the terminal.
“It won’t just be a restaurant,” Terzini said. “We aim to provide a unique experience that will leave a lasting impression on locals and international travelers alike.”
Bondi Icebergs is one of Australia’s best-known restaurants, popular for its celebrity clientele, breathtaking views and high-end atmosphere.
Previous diners have included Hollywood stars Matt Damon, Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi.
Oprah Winfrey, Mick Jagger, Alexa Chung and Sienna Miller have also been spotted at the oceanfront restaurant.
