Actor Austin North was arrested Tuesday night in Las Vegas in connection with allegations that he physically assaulted multiple medical workers in the emergency room at UMC Hospital after suffering what he described as “a severe anxiety attack.”
The police in Las Vegas said this TMZ On Thursday, officers had responded to reports of an assault and destruction.
Authorities told the station that they subsequently interviewed several people who claimed the 27-year-old actor had attacked them, with no conflict preceding the outburst.
Two nurses and a phlebotomist told police the Cincinnati resident “came out of nowhere” with the physical attack, throwing punches.
One nurse said North, who plays Topper Thornton in Netflix’s Outer Banks, punched them in the head, while another said he pushed in their faces.

The phlebotomist said North pushed them against a table, after which they grabbed a tray and hit the actor on the head with it, in an act of self-defense.
Police said that when security officers tried to restrain North, he attacked someone else, the outlet reported.
Security was finally able to restrain the actor when they handcuffed North to a stretcher on the premises.
Police responding to the scene then read North his Miranda rights and told him he was under arrest for battery.
North confirmed he understood what happened, police said.
The actor was then transported to a jail and booked on a serious misdemeanor charge, during which he posed for a mug shot.
North, who also appeared on shows including I Didn’t Do It and All Night, left the facility.

“I am deeply disturbed by the events that occurred in Las Vegas this past week,” he said. “My boyfriend took me to the hospital because I thought I was having a heart attack.”
North said “several tests were taken at the medical facility, including blood, which were negative for any drugs or alcohol in my system” because he said he was “having a severe anxiety attack.”
North said he had little memory of the events described by authorities, had a high opinion of hospital staff and hopes to use the experience as a springboard to educate others about anxiety and how it affects those who suffer from it.
“I have very little memory of the events that day in the hospital,” he said. “I have the utmost respect for healthcare workers and hospital staff.
‘I’ve battled anxiety on and off for years and this was the most extreme panic attack I’ve ever had. In the future, I hope to shed light on this debilitating condition and send hope to those who have also struggled.”
