‘They were amazing!’ Austin Butler Says His ‘Supportive’ Family Was Very Understanding When He Stayed Away From Them For THREE YEARS To Star In Elvis

Austin Butler stayed away from his family for three years when he got into character to play Elvis in his hit movie.
And on Thursday the actor told entertainment tonight during the Palm Spring Film Awards that her family was ‘amazing’ about it.
Kaia Gerber’s boyfriend added that they were incredibly “supportive” of her commitment to the project. “My family is very supportive of me, they are just amazing,” added the star.

He’s grateful: On Thursday, the actor told Entertainment Tonight during the Palm Spring Film Awards that his family was “amazing” about it.
Butler also shared that he’s so close to his family now that he’s taking his sister Ashley to the Golden Globes on Tuesday as his chaperone. “She’s my only sister, so it’s going to be nice to be with her,” he told ET.
Austin was so dedicated to perfecting his role as Elvis in the famed biopic released last summer that he didn’t see his family for three years as he prepared for the film in Australia.
Production on Elvis was postponed in March 2020 when one of its stars, Tom Hanks, was diagnosed with COVID-19 and hospitalized.
When the pandemic began, Elvis’s set was closed indefinitely.
Butler turned down an invitation for a ride back to his home in Los Angeles, instead using the lockdown as an opportunity to immerse himself in all things Elvis.
Date: Austin shared that he is taking his sister Ashley to the Golden Globes next week “She’s my only sister, so it’ll be nice to be with her,” he said, seen with her sister Ashley in a photo he shared on Instagram.

“Just images of Elvis everywhere, from all periods,” he said.
He noted that the pandemic gave him extra time to delve into his role.
“I think the movie would have been very different if we had started shooting at that point, and I’m grateful that I had time to marinate,” he added.

When filming began, he felt that he had learned everything there was to know about Elvis.
He had dedicated himself to listening exclusively to his music, and reading everything he could find about his life.

He said: ‘During Elvis, I didn’t see my family for about three years. I was in New York preparing with Baz and then I went to Australia.
“I had months where I didn’t talk to anyone, and when I did, all I thought about was Elvis.”
He explained: ‘It’s the only thing I was focused on. I was talking in her voice the whole time, so I talk to my sister and she has to listen to that and she’s like “what are you doing?”
‘So I just had to focus and yeah. This is what is needed.
Butler has previously opened up about the effects of playing Elvis, admitting that he “lost touch” with his own personality.
He said GQ Magazine: ‘You can lose touch with who you really are, and I definitely had that when I finished Elvis: not knowing who I was.’
