Austin Butler dressed to impress in a sharp suit while attending a special Q&A in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The event preceded the 2023 Golden Globe Awards, which will air on January 10.

The 31-year-old actor has been nominated for playing the role of Elvis Presley in the critically acclaimed 2022 Baz Luhrmann biopic Elvis.

The Carrie Diaries alumnus recently received the Breakthrough Performance Award for his portrayal of the King of Rock n’ Roll at the 34th Annual Palm Springs Film Festival on Thursday.

The star, who is currently nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama category, was seen sporting a sleek black suit along with a partially unbuttoned black dress shirt underneath.

The former Disney Channel star also donned a pair of sleek black dress shoes to complete her look for the event.

The shoot, which was held at the Pacific Design Center near West Hollywood, was held just three days before the anticipated main awards ceremony.

As he made his way to the crowded venue, Austin graciously stopped before a group of fans who were patiently waiting outside the building and signed autographs.

Along with Austin’s own Best Actor nomination, Elvis was nominated for two additional Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture – Drama and also Best Director for Baz Luhrmann.

Other actors who were nominated for Best Actor in the Drama category include Brendan Fraser for his role in The Whale and Hugh Jackman for The Son.

While stopping by the Palm Springs Film Festival on Thursday, the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star revealed to entertainment tonight whom he planned to bring as a guest to the annual ceremony.

“I’m bringing my sister,” she announced to the publication while being interviewed on the red carpet. She added that after a “difficult” decision to determine who to take with him, Austin expressed: “she’s my only sister, so it will be nice to be with her.”

Although his girlfriend and supermodel, Kaia Gerber, will not be by his side during the awards show, the couple were recently seen together on a getaway to Mexico over the New Year’s holidays with their family.

While attending the first night of festivities at the film festival, which returned to being live after a two-year hiatus, Austin was honored with the Breakthrough Performance Award for his role as Elvis Presley.

During the second day of the festival on Friday, Baz Luhrmann was also honored with the Creative Impact in Directing Award, reported Variety.

While giving an acceptance speech, the filmmaker revealed to the star-studded guests that “We almost lost that kid,” in reference to the Elvis biopic. ‘During the pandemic, Tom came down with a cold. And the movie fell apart, I couldn’t keep the cast together.’

The Moulin Rouge director further recalled, “I went to Austin and said the movie was over.” However, Butler had flatly stated at the time, “I’m not going.”

“We held this child as something precious because his mission was to be born and bring audiences back to theaters, and the fact that it really happened is the reason I’m here now,” he added.

Reflecting on his role as Elvis during an interview with independent wire last month in December, Austin explained, “I knew I was going to trade and that got me excited.”

He further expressed, “I’m always fascinated by the inner life of people, especially someone who is so exposed to the public.”

The actor then revealed that when filming wrapped, he had an “existential crisis,” adding that the reasoning was because he “didn’t do anything that was Austin-based at the time.”

“I didn’t talk to my family or my friends or anyone. I would talk to them every two months or so, but I really lost contact with me. But I also learned things about myself, that’s a beautiful gift.’

The 2023 Golden Globe Awards, which will celebrate its 80th anniversary, will air next week on January 10 and will be hosted by Emmy-winning comedian Jerrod Carmichael.
