Bizarre moment massive infestation of MOTHS invades musician’s hotel room after she made a foolish error
A musician recalls the terrifying moment a huge swarm of moths settled in her hotel room.
Emily Rink, 23, and her brother Konrad were on holiday in New South Wales from Queensland and had left their hotel windows open while en route.
Later that night, the siblings returned to find hundreds of moths flying through both rooms, crawling across the walls and ceilings, but they would not go away.
Mrs Rink said Konrad was nonchalant about the situation and tried to manipulate her into staying in the room.
“I noticed more and more moths were coming in, and my brother didn’t really react to it… He was just chilling and watching TV,” she told Daily Mail Australia.
“When I entered his room, it was twenty times worse, and he still did nothing.”
Mrs. Rink remembers running her fingers through her hair and four bugs falling out, prompting her to seek help from the hotel staff.
“The guy opened the door and panicked even more than we did,” Rink said.

They tried to get the moths out of the room with a leaf blower and then lured them in with a flashlight, but to no avail.
Mrs Rink was at her wits’ end and prepared to ‘sleep in the hallway’ before staff offered to move them to other rooms.
Although Konrad happily accepted the offer, she preferred to stay in the moth room rather than among the ‘loud backpackers’.
Mrs Rink said the situation would have been even worse if she had been with anyone other than her brother, who made it ‘very, very funny’.
“They landed on his head and stuff, and all he wanted to do was sleep after surfing about six times that day,” she said.
The musician recorded her brother’s nonchalant response and posted it on TikTok where it quickly went viral.
Mrs Rink said her brother Konrad (both pictured) was much less bothered by the situation and even turned down an offer to move rooms, despite the moths crawling on his head
Mrs Rink said four moths had fallen out of her hair and asked a staff member for help, who managed to find her another room for the night.
Viewers reacted with shock to the bizarre situation.
“I really think there are less moths outside,” someone wrote.
Another commented, “I’m not afraid of moths, but with so many in the room I wouldn’t be able to sleep.”
A third wrote: ‘I would have cried if I saw one moth, there are far too many to be calm about.’
Other viewers praised Konrad for his calm response and his attempts to calm his sister down.
“Tell him he can sleep there and you can take his room,” one viewer suggested.
Another asked, “Why is he acting like he brought them himself and now trying to convince you to keep them?”
