Aussie woman shocks radio listeners by revealing she is willing to miss her aunt’s funeral to attend Taylor Swift concert in Melbourne
An Adelaide woman revealed to a local radio station on Thursday that she is willing to miss her aunt’s funeral to attend one of Taylor Swift’s concerts in Melbourne.
Adelaide’s 107.1 SAFM Breakfast show asked listeners to call in and say what they would be willing to miss in terms of tickets to the pop star’s Eras concert.
Several callers said they would miss services and weddings, but listener Khiara was declared the winner after revealing she would skip a loved one’s funeral.
The South Australian from Hillbank told SAFM: “I’m a really big Swiftie, I’d do anything, well, obviously if I missed a funeral. The body is being flown in from Queensland, it’s a really big deal, there will be so many relatives there and I’m prepared to upset everyone to go.”
“In a respectful way, this is a unique opportunity to see Taylor Swift,” she added.

To get tickets, Khiara had to convince her shocked mother Jodie to give her blessing to miss the funeral, which is expected to take place at 1pm ACDT (1.30pm AEDT) in Adelaide on Friday.
Jodie indignantly accepted before saying she was ‘disappointed’.
To the shock of listeners, Khiara then asked if her mother would travel with her to Melbourne to babysit her one-year-old.
It comes after Taylor, 34, arrived in Australia to kick off her highly anticipated Eras Tour.
