An Australian woman has been seriously injured after falling 10 meters from a popular bridge while on holiday in Bali.
Sharyn Maree Lewis was staying with her partner at a resort on Nusa Lembongan, a small island in southeastern Bali, to celebrate her 60th birthday when tragedy struck on Sunday morning.
Klungkung police spokesman Agus Widiono said the Queensland woman was riding a rented motorbike across the Yellow Bridge, which connects to Nusa Ceningan, another nearby small island.
“As she got almost to the end of the bridge, the motorcycle brake suddenly stopped working,” Mr Widiono said.
“She and the motorcycle fell about 30 feet from the bridge.”

Ms Lewis was rushed to East Medical Care Center in Lembongan at around 11.40am local time.
She has since been evacuated to BIMC Hospital Nusa Dua, in southern mainland Bali.
“The victim had an open wound on her right thigh,” Widiono said.
Photos from the hospital showed several nurses gathered around Mrs Lewis on a bed as her partner waited anxiously outside.
There is no further update on Ms Lewis’ condition.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted BIMC Hospital Nusa Dua and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for further comment.
It is understood Ms Lewis has been on holiday in Bali since October 5.
