Incredible images of the magical pool surrounded by 65-foot cliffs adorned with creeping vines have flooded social media as travelers rush to watch the canyon close at the end of the dry season next month.
While the breathtaking gorge is one of the Kimberley’s more accessible sights, getting there is no easy feat.
Kununurra is the closest town to the gorge and is a three and a half hour flight from Perth.

There are some pleasant spots as the pool is partially fed from thermal springs, but swimmers may need to chase some cane toads competing for warmth.
To visit the canyon, a visitor permit is required which costs $22 per adult or $11 per child and gives access to all of El Questro’s attractions for seven days.
