Aussie tourist from NSW Central Coast awaiting medical evacuation flight from Bali after horror motorbike accident
The family of an Australian tourist has made a rescue flight to Bali after he suffered horrific injuries during a holiday on the Indonesian island.
Jacob Villablanca, from Terrigal on the NSW Central Coast, was rushed to hospital after the skin and muscles of his shin were torn in a ‘serious motorcycle accident’ that left him unconscious on Wednesday.
He also suffered a brain hemorrhage.
His mother Julie and sister Grace boarded the first plane to Bali, standing next to his hospital bed.
Friends at home have rallied around the family after it emerged Mr Villablanca required an ‘SOS’ medical evacuation flight back to Australia for emergency treatment.

‘Jacob was found unconscious and taken to a hospital in Bali. He is now conscious but has significant lower extremity damage and some bleeding on the brain,” friend Aimee Kostrubic wrote on a post online fundraiser.
“Jacob has been advised to return to Australia as soon as possible to receive the medical attention and surgery he desperately needs.”
Mr Villablanca’s sister, Grace, shared a graphic photo of the tibia in which the skin and muscle had been torn away, leaving part of the bone exposed.
“The insurance company won’t approve it for another four days and that’s too long. We need to get him back immediately for surgery on his leg,” Grace wrote on Facebook.
;He also received a CT scan which showed a small brain hemorrhage.
‘Does anyone know what to do and who to contact? This is every parent’s worst nightmare.’

Mr Villablanca’s family were told he required an SOS pick-up flight due to the extent of his significant injuries, which cost $68,000.
“As you can imagine, the family is extremely sad and wants to get Jacob back to Australia as soon as possible,” Ms Kostrubic said.
“He will need emergency surgery in Western Australia before he can go home.”
More than $42,000 has been raised since the fundraiser was set up on Thursday.
The page has been flooded with messages from well-wishers praying for Mr Villablanca’s speedy recovery.
“This GoFundMe has been set up to assist the Villablanca family during this very difficult time, get Jacob home safely and receive the medical attention he urgently needs,” Ms. Kostrubic said.
