Aussie tennis legend Mark Philippoussis announces shocking split: ‘It’s been a great ride’
Australian tennis legend Mark Philippoussis has confirmed that he has split from tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Philippoussis has been Tsitsipas’ full-time coaching mentor since 2022 following his infamous collapse during his loss to Nick Kyrgios at Wimbledon.
On Tuesday, Philippoussis announced that he has now said goodbye to the Greek tennis player.
“@stefanostsitsipas98 thank you for the opportunity to be part of your team,” he wrote on Instagram.
“It’s been a great ride and experience, I’m proud of what we accomplished together in the short time we had.”

‘I wish you health, happiness and success for your future, on and off the track!’
The announcement comes just days after Tsitsipas became embroiled in a scandal involving his mother, Julia Apostoli, a Russian-born Greek professional player.
He was heard screaming as he crashed out of the Italian Open on Saturday, telling his mother to ‘get out of the stadium’.

In March, Tsitsipas called Philippoussis “the right match” when discussing their partnership at the 2023 Indian Wells.
“Mark is a very wise man, he has a lot of knowledge,” he said.
“I think the fact that he’s been through these things himself on tour and he can give some of it [advice] for me now is essential.’
‘He gives a lot of feedback. He can empathize with many things that have happened to me and sees a little of himself in me in some circumstances and situations.”
